Letting Go of Society’s Expectations: A Journey to Peace, Purpose, and Positive Living

Hello light being,


If you’d asked me pre 2011 what I wanted out of life, my answer would have been what society often tells us: climb the ladder, achieve more, hustle harder, never stop.


I was driven by dreams that weren’t always my own.

Like so many, I found that left me feeling exhausted and not being true to myself.


Burnout as a Blessing.


Burnout isn’t something I’d wish on anyone, but looking back, I see it as a blessing in disguise.

It forced me to pause, reflect, and ask myself: Whose life am I really living?

 

I realised I was living out a script written by others, indoctrinated by society, by expectations, by old patterns of thinking and others beliefs.


As I began to heal, and found my positive mentor something beautiful happened.


My desires shifted to want to help others, to serve humanity, and most importantly, to live a peaceful, stress-free life. ( That could also be the Aquarian humanitarian in me too ;)


Peace is what I had asked the universe for after hitting my rock bottom and learning so many lessons along the way.


Embracing Positive Thinking and the Law of Attraction.


This shift wasn’t just about slowing down; it was about changing my mindset.


I started to practice positive thinking and embrace the law of attraction.


Instead of focusing on what I lacked or what I “should” be doing, I began to focus on living a peaceful life.


I found that when I tuned into positive thoughts, words and aligned my intentions with what truly mattered to me, life started to flow my way.


My days became lighter, more joyful, and filled with meaning.


I was using the tools and practices.


Living with Less Ambition, More Purpose.


I no longer see success by titles, possessions, or things and stuff, but by the peace I feel and the positive impact I can make—no matter how small.


I pursue a peaceful life, free from unnecessary stress.


So far, so good.


My relationships are richer, my heart is lighter, and I wake up excited to see what each new day will bring.


Because I understand that we get more of what we are telling ourselves and what we are focusing on, we are literally giving ourselves instructions.


Here are a few things that helped me on my journey.


Redefine Success

Ask yourself what you truly want, not what you’ve been told to want. Success is personal, maybe for you, it’s inner peace, or simply more time to enjoy life.


Practice Gratitude Daily

Start or end your day by listing three things you’re grateful for. This simple practice shifts your focus from what’s missing to what’s already lovely in your life.


Visualise Your Ideal Life

Use the law of attraction to your advantage. Take a few minutes each day to imagine your ideal, peaceful life. Feel the emotions as if it’s already yours. The universe responds to your energy, stop trying to calm the storm, calm yourself and the storm will pass.


Help Others in Small Ways

You don’t have to change the world overnight. Smile at a stranger, lend a listening ear, or volunteer your time. Acts of kindness ripple out in ways you can’t imagine.


Waking up to the “LAWS” taught me that life isn’t about having or achieving more.


It’s about living authentically, thinking positively, and attracting what truly matters.


If you’re on this journey too, trust that you’re exactly where you need to be.


The most beautiful chapters often begin with gratitude.


Stay positive, keep believing, and remember: you have the power to create a life you love.
